Dear Church,
On July 7, we had things ready for our return to Mexico after a short trip to the US for a family visit and to renew our visas and import permits. At about 3:00 AM Becky was having chest pains so we rushed her to the emergency room at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, Mo. She was admitted to the hospital immediately. She was given a stress test followed by an angiogram. These studies revealed blockage in arteries of the heart that required cardiac by-pass surgery. Double by-pass surgery was performed on July 14.
She came through the surgery well. She is now in a cardiac rehabilitation program. She did have a setback with a bout of pneumonia and an allergic reaction to a medication. With all these things she is still recovering well.
Obviously our plans to return to Mexico had to be changed. We expect that we will need to be here for at least two or three months more for her recuperation.
News from the work in Mexico has been very encouraging. There have been souls saved and new families visiting the Bible Baptist Church del Rio. At least one person has been baptized. We see how that our Lord had sent Jesus and Mina Estrada to step in and lead the church in our absence.
We would ask you to pray for Becky's recovery and for our return to Mexico. Also, we ask for prayer for the work in Mexico that it will continue to do well in our absence.
Thank you for your faithfulness.
Yours in Him,
Jim and Becky Lee
